Broadway Dance Studio was founded in 1959 by Dorothy Jensen ("Miss Dorothy"). In 1945 Miss Dorothy joined a dance troupe performing on the road and in local theatres. Miss Dorothy performed for the troops during WWII and was seen on the Ed Sullivan show. Miss Dorothy brings her vast experience to the studio. At Broadway Dance Studio, we focus on our students. Our teachers are dedicated to helping the dancer gain poise and confidence in a fun environment. As a dancer, you will be opened up to the vocabulary of dance and we are here to help you embrace that. Whether you are a novice or already have dance in your life, the staff at Broadway Dance Studio welcomes you. The culmination of what you learn throughout the dance year will be presented to our audience at the annual performance, which is held in June. The feeling of performing for an audience with your fellow dancers is a special experience. While lining up for your routine back stage you will feel the excitement in the air. Dancers as young as 3 years old are a welcome addition to our performance. By joining the family of dance you will be opened up to new possibilities, make new friends that can last a lifetime, and discover a fun way of bringing exercise into your life.
